It's still all mainly about the Melo (look whose picture is prominently placed at the top of this page!), and what we're in to, up to, and trying to do, and all of the other good bits in between.

This will have to count for my entry on 6/14

Since we were over Heather and Colin's from noon to midnight yesterday playing Twilight Imperium, a very intense space board game. The game is a ton of fun, but there are so many rules that I've not quite figured out a good strategy yet. All I know is next time, I'm going for War Suns from the very beginning as well as Mecator Rex (center planet that is key to getting a lot of objectives). Oh, and dreadnoughts - those are good, too.

A crafty Saturday!

Our friend Greg came down Friday night for a visit along with his beautiful chocolate lab, Bella. After our last Saturday Dragon Boat practice (thank goodness), I headed out to meet up with Chrissie for the going-out-of-business sale at the Let's Quilt shop (yet another victim of the Chrissie-Kat quilt shop curse, it seems). Then Chrissie took me to a wonderful, awesome place that will be my mom's second favorite place in the NW: Monticello's. It is incredible - a wonderful cafe, lovely places to sit, and an amazing collection of various bis and baubles. I cannot wait to go back with my mom and Chrissie!

Chrissie then took me to another great place, Knittn' Kitten, a craft thrift store. They had bamboo double points in an assortment of sizes for only $2!!!!!! And buttons, and fabric, and yarn - oh my! Erica - you must come visit soon, there are so many crafty things to see and do!!

what a weekend!

the first weekend after the first week of work. We celebrated PK's birthday with karaoke to the wee hours at the Alibi and the Boiler Room, giggling like 4th graders with the new catch phrase to add to the end of every sentence: 'in my pants'. Then we got to hang with the McLaughlins on Saturday with Busters and a trip to the new digs for A Common Thread. It was good practice quilt shopping for the upcoming Shop Hop. Sunday was a bit bittersweet since the Cowboys lost (why Romo, why?). It may have been a blessing in disguise that I had a knitting class for the 2nd half-Jeff would not have been a happy camper! With Seattle and Dallas now both out of the running, I'm pulling for Green Bay. One of these days soon I'll venture down stairs and hook up the camera and upload some photos - especially the WIPs.
