It is starting to take shape - we actually have some stairs. What is really scary is that the new stairs, even when not yet glued and nailed in place, are WAY more secure than the old stairs. Guess that pink shag carpet was more structural than we thought . . .

New Camera, New Camera

Well, there'd be pictures too, but it's not out of the box yet exactly. It is a Sony cybershot, after a long process and much hemming and hawing by me about making the switch from Canon. I still love my Canon Powershot, but alas, she's a bit worn out these days and taking blurry photos. So now I have a snazzy new red cybershot that makes cool sounds, has some sort of face finder/focus feature, and according to Josh is "one lounder" (a reference for all of you Spinal Tap fans), more like four or five louder than the Canon. We might be making our way to Sauvie Island tomorrow for some test shots.

Congrats to Erica!

A bit late, but better than never. Erica was just promoted to Committee Staff Administrator for the Seniors, Veterans, Military Affairs and Public Protection Interim Joint Committee, CSA for short. Congrats E!

Look at those hardwoods. It starts off light, but I am assured it will darken with time and the sealer/finish. Either way - it looks awesome.

Yes, I finally got around to uploading my pictures to Flickr from my wonderful trip in July out to see Erica. It took me so long because it just bums me out that 1) I am not still in KY visiting E (aka, Southern Spice - time for a reunion tour) and 2) there are all those dang states between Oregon and Kentucky. Erica blogged beautifully about all the cool places she took me on my visit, and the best bit of it all was just hanging out with E (especially staying up really late when we couldn't sleep watching whatever was on cable, which wasn't too much!!).

Y'up - the massive pack up for the new floors has begun. Work may suck
right now, and who knows, maybe I'll have lots of time to unpack, but
for now, its all about the packing, packing, and more packing. When did
we get all this junk? We should have just had ayardsale in the house, then packed - would have made for less of my beloved packing. Duty calls.

Sorry for the picture quality. The little Canon that could is starting to fade. It might be time for it to go to the big camera heaven in the sky, where the light is always perfect and auto focus always works . . .
