It's still all mainly about the Melo (look whose picture is prominently placed at the top of this page!), and what we're in to, up to, and trying to do, and all of the other good bits in between.

gosh what a weekend

It started out fun enough with bunko at Tiffany's and a tie for second place and a win in the roll off. Then a Saturday of Michael and Kamarin's babyshower for Naomi (with the Green Lantern sweater, pictures later), then shopping with Josh at IKEA and Target for accessories to go with the new floors. Then a visit from Chrissie and the girls, who brought Busters. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Leina and Kulia we're SO cute running around with Melo and bouncing balls inside - it makes me want to just skip unpacking the POD and keep it empty inside!!!

Unfortunately we then got the 911 call that my mom had taken a bad spill at the house, so off to the ER. Fortunately, no broken hip, but a fractured shoulder and big bonk to her head with a big shiner to go with it. Her head is okay, but the shoulder is going to be immobilized for 6 to 8 weeks. No surgery given where she broke the bone-OUCH! I'd post the pic from the hospital, but when the vicodin wears off, she'd beat me with her good arm!

So please send positive thoughts and prayers to my mom and dad, who's equally if not more distressed than her! And my brother mike who is doing great helping out! We're on our way over with Olive Garden for dinner now that I finished up some work--that always raises the spirits in our family!

Yup this is where we are headed. Once we make it out of Portland traffic, which could take some time. Off to see Rob and Jenn and Jack. Can NOT wait to get the heck out of here for the weekend. Have I mentioned how much I dislike my present vocation - well I do. So they can go suck it, I am outta here for the weekend.

UPDATE: Check out the photos of our awesmome weekend with the Rushers here at Flickr.

busy busy day

Why is it always so busy with labor the day after labor day? Well at least there was no Monday this week! The floors are 85 percent done, but the fumes are a bit strong--even with the tree hugger version of the finish!

Fortunately, we're retreating to vancouver for the evening at least - give our lungs a break and help my dad recooperate from surgery. It went well thank goodness!

If we survive the fumes, pictures will be posted later.

Labor Day At Last

Thank goodness - an honest to goodness three day weekend. We're still house-less as the floors are still in progress, but it doesn't matter much at least for the holiday as we are up in Seattle visiting Josh's parents. Today, we had the bestest, yummiest biscuits & gravy at Central Market, ice cream at Mora (Mexican Chocolate and Lavender, plus a sampling of Peanut Butter Cream after a stop at Churchmouse, of course) and a wonderful dinner of crab, steak and salad at Ted's. A perfect way to start the first Saturday of a three day weekend!
