It's still all mainly about the Melo (look whose picture is prominently placed at the top of this page!), and what we're in to, up to, and trying to do, and all of the other good bits in between.

Livin' it up in the San Juans

Livin' it up in the San Juans

Just a tease photo from our recent trip to the San Juans with the Rushers, who officially rocked way before the SJ trip, but have now officially cemented rock-dom for all times!! We say the J-pod of orcas and they were simply awesome. Josh got some really great pics with his fancy-dancy camera - Jen, a DVD is on its way!

We're back!!

Well, actually, we got back a few days ago, but it's been a bit crazy getting back into the swing of things. The trip was wonderful - I miss my RI buddies so much, I can't blog about my trip yet or it will make me sad. The San Juans with the Rushers was awesome - we saw orcas, eagles, seals and tons of stuff! Some of Josh's photos are up already on flickr - I'm going to have to locate my camera and start uploading and burning disks for folks!

The frantic fun of getting ready for vacation

Yes, the endless laundry, the best laid plans of being ultimately prepared and not overpacked, the wrapping up of loose ends of work - all things I always strive for that never happens. Oh well, it means we do a lot of laundry (mostly josh!!), overpack (hey - ya never know), and a reason to come back ('cause there's still a lot of work). I can't wait to see my high school buddies Charee, Cheryl and Tracy - it's going to be like Senior Prom 2 with a boat ride to Charee's wedding!!

We made it to the land of cheese!

We landed in Milwaukee at 7 am (5 am PDX time), tired and lacking caffeine but happy to have made it. After Gail picked us up, we made a quick stop at Cracker Barrel (hadn't been to one of these in years) and headed to Beaver Dam. Josh did some reconnaissance before we headed out and learned that Nancy Zieman, of Nancy's Notion fame, lives in Beaver Dam. So we made a trip to a quilter's mecca, her shop! I found some great patterns, but had to limit myself on the fabric given the new luggage weight fees for the plane ride home! There's another quilt shop in downtown Beaver Dam that we'll be checking out tomorrow - don't know if I'll be able to resist the call of fabric! After Nancy's Notions, we tried out frozen custard at a local landmark, Culvers - where we even ran into the groom and his family. Then it was time to head back to the motel where everyone is staying to hang out. I finally got to meet Josh's Uncle Dean and we say Aunt Mary - I can't wait for the wedding tomorrow!
