It's still all mainly about the Melo (look whose picture is prominently placed at the top of this page!), and what we're in to, up to, and trying to do, and all of the other good bits in between.
My favorite fabric designer, Sandy Gervais, has put up a free and super cute pattern at the Moda Bake Shop, and since Chrissie and I are headed to a quilt expo this weekend it will be the perfect opportunity to pick up her latest line to make the cute little stuffed owl!!!

Well, I finally broke down and made the rainbow cake. I love it and how it turned out - only next time I might need to buy some more cake pans so I can do more than 2 layers at the time - and maybe make the layers a bit smaller. The Mother's Restaurant recipe for whipped cream icing (usual topping for coconut cream pies) worked like a charm. And go Moist Deluxe cake mix - worked like a charm with the WIlton icing color set. Next up - the big reveal photo!

well, what started out as a potential bust (everybody sick and the best laid plans of kevin and josh torn asunder) ended up as a blast. Roller skating, breakfast at Mothers, trip to Fabric Depot (not Boersma's, but there was a sale), Teazone and the zoo. Alas, no real polar bears but another new stuffed polar bear joined the growing gang in the spare bedroom. Thank you for a wonderful valentine's day, sweetie - yet again, you outdid yourself!!

What a lovely saturday - cleaned a little, crafted a lot and now we're heading out to do some bollywood dancing. I'm seriously hoping we're not the oldest ones there - but after a few drinks it may not matter that much and the music should be good. And bonus - I'm remembering to wear the pedometer and might actually get 10K steps in one day!!!
I love weekends.

Yes, the crafting/shopping panic has begun to set in. Deep breaths - I did accomplish some things today, none of which I can mention here since potential readers are potential recipients of today's work. Tomorrow the focus is on coming up with five crafts for the craft exchange at work -- what was I thinking???? But secretly, I love the last minute joy / excitement of crafting at Christmas!
