Film revew: Hero

This is a gorgeously filmed movie. You can check the link for plot points. What struck me most is how cohesive a film it was. The acting would flow withthe costumes, the costumes would blend with the scenerey, the scenery seemed to be scored by the music. All in all it was a seamless movie that had me entranced. The longshot was what stood out the most. The director Yimou Zhang had such a knack for picking gorgeous locations and then not painting over them with the actors and invasive close ups. Instead Zhang made his actors blend in with their surroundings. So Huge thumb's up. A beautiful movie. Zhang hit one of my tennants about good film. Since it is a visual medium, every scene/ shot in a beautiful film should be able to stand on its own as a still photo.

Hero: ****1/2
